@ Painful Quandary - You'd have to pay 5 life. You'd cast the spell so now your hand is zero, THEN this goes off. If you have no cards in your hand you can not pay for discard costs.

That's how I would play it at least.

I just realized something: This game needs Death Rattle!
“If [this card] would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, [do some effect].”

I know we have SOME cards that do 'When this hits the GY, do this.' Like the Baloth, but I think a keyword is in order! Would be a neat mechanic to see, like Madness, but for free. Obviously you won't see "Death Rattle : Put a big token into play." You'll probably see more along the lines of "Death Rattle : Discard a card without Death Rattle, then draw a card." or "Gain 3 Life. Death Rattle : Gain 1 life." Would help combat milling (IDK how big of an issue this is tho ... I am sure it is popular in some format tho...) and discard annoyance (Megrim and Lilly Caress)

Just a random thought I had ...

Just saying a keyword would be cool. Save space on a card. And ... be cool xD
And One With Nothing would actually be useful xD

Never say never. Resources are completely different then lands and mana and combat is totally different, but it could work. Maybe not a 5/5 for 0, 3/3 I think at THE MOST (since SoM is giving us a 1/1 for 0 and still with a drawback. It's hard coming up with a draw back in Magic, it's either TO BIG of a draw back or not big enough.

you're only 11 years late. however, this thing does allow for charge counter fixing.

wow! Urza's Incubator for everything (plus the cost of a card). imprint a card with two card types for double duty! however, it does remind me of Extraplanar Lens... not very good because of the card loss.

So drawback-free dual until you hit turn 4. Of course, nothing's as good as this guy, but maybe this will approach its awesomeness.

Whenever a land enters the battlefield under an opponent's control, if that player had another land enter the battlefield under his or her control this turn, Tunnel Ignus deals 3 damage to that player.

I like this card. +2/+2, makes my guy a Black Zombie, and gives me two Intimidates since I keep my original color. Plus, for 4 I can bring back a guy and slap this on him.

I like this little guy. G for a 1/2 Reacher that only gets bigger when it Reaches? Very nice. I will definitely be using this guy in my G/W Leyline of Vitality deck.

So far, this stood out the most to me.

All my guys have SS and I can regen them for 1G, very nice. 3GG CC, but I don't think Green has a problem getting that much mana.
