Re: Innistrad spoiler
yea, it'll just be Liliana hunched with her elbows over the frame looking very annoyed that her picture is so tiny.
anyway, can anyone else see this as a giant mistake? either it'll be totally nerfed (e.g. one billion mana to cast, shitty abilities, no plus abilities), or it'll sneak by like Jace II did and ruin formats. i dunno, you get one good card advantage ability or one "i protect myself" thing on it and they could see problems.
i am certain this card will be NO LESS than 5 mana.
A card based on a silver-bordered white card
i'm going to guess Get A Life, Look at Me, I'm R&D, or even Once More With Feeling.

MidniteEffort wrote:oh snapAs always, let me be clear that while everything I say is true, I'm purposefully not telling you everything. With that said, here are some things you'll find in Innistrad:
A card based on a silver-bordered white card
A token-making sorcery which makes more creature tokens than any previous token-making spell (not counting X spells or spells that make a variable number)
An enchantment that could let you play all your creatures for free
A spell that can deal 13 damage to multiple creatures for one mana (and yes, I mean 13 damage multiple times)
Many—and I'm talking more than a few—cards inspired by famous horror stories
A card that turns a loss into a win
A two-mana creature that lets you make a 2/2 creature each turn for two mana
A card that lets you exchange your life total with something you've never been able to exchange it with before
and...
A planeswalker with five loyalty abilities

If it's real (which it seems so), the Day/Night mechanic looks like an interesting take on flip cards. No idea how they'll execute it.

ha! the day and night mechanic has been speculated for YEARS! this is really exciting and cool (insert "if real" disclaimer here), and i should have realized it (with werewolves).
Re: Innistrad spoiler
now look at the picture:
doesn't it look like they are two separate cards?
also
Yixlid Jailer?

Re: Innistrad spoiler
check the card numbers...
https://2img.net/h/i110.photobucket.com/albums/n96/Female_Kaldra_is_hot/index.jpg
a/b Does this mean its a flip card or 2 separate ccards and you'll need both? Either way, a VERY big change to the norm, and neither of those ideas i especially like. Sleeves will become mandatory or you'll be forced to double rare chase.
Meh.
Love the theme of the set though, fwiw.

Re: Innistrad spoiler
Can't imagine it would be something where you need both cards to function. That would make limited pretty shitty.
Re: Innistrad spoiler
wait i can't imagine they would have cards printed on both sides..... that would never work!

anyway... i just read this, and i have to say that i am even more excited thanks to the flavor.
uh oh, that's what got me excited for Kamigawa block. that's two Kamigawa reminders so far.
EDIT: in before "the world is going to end". Magic will be fine, and we'll still have fun every week. they're getting a little doom-y at MTGS.

i know! i've counted like six people just glossing over at MTGS who are like "i'm quitting Magic!!!" where do they find these weirdos?
Re: Innistrad spoiler
No, those two cards with Eclipse are something McGlade came up with a while ago, apparantly.intrinsic wrote:So "eclipse" is the day/night mechanic explained then?
I wish he wouldn't toss things out like that in threads like this one. Leads to too much confusion.

you might've made mention this has nothing to do with the new set.

Fascinating...
The Day/Night marker up in the top of the card looks strange, but it could be the "Modern" cardframe placement for the Flashback symbol too. Interesting.
I was hoping that the Werewolves would be like FLIP cards (with conditions), as an upkeep token or something would be strange and hard to remember. Unless....just had a thought. What if Day/Night is like THRESHOLD. If there are x cards in your graveyard, than it is night?

They wouldnt double up on graveyard conditions activating a mechanic would they? Could be other things, like number of lands or creatures in play? Eh, who knows. I'm terrible at speculating.

Travel Preparations
1G
Sorcery (c)
Put a +1/+1 counter on each of up to two target creatures.

i guess it's viral marketing. hey, where do you guys see evidence that he's naked?

This thread is getting way off coarse, lol.MidniteEffort wrote:i guess it's viral marketing. hey, where do you guys see evidence that he's naked?
He pans down when he drops a card and you see his bare leg.

hella confused. stand by while i wrap my head around how annoying Limited will be cause i don't use sleeves.
MidniteEffort wrote:wait i can't imagine they would have cards printed on both sides..... that would never work!.
haaaaaaaaaaaaaa
For a creature to fight another creature, each deals damage equal to its power to the other. A few finer points:
The damage is dealt simultaneously, and it is dealt by the creatures themselves, so abilities like deathtouch, lifelink, and infect will work as normal.
Damage dealt while fighting is not combat damage, so abilities like first strike won't have any effect.
Fighting doesn't cause the creatures to become tapped.
Only creatures can fight.
No more than two creatures can fight.
If a creature somehow fights itself, it will deal damage to itself equal to its power twice simultaneously.
"the first rule about Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club..."
