My thoughts:
I would definitely be getting more than just the sets for him. 1 example of what i can get for him is ABU is offering $130 for him on their buy list AND they give 25% more if you trade, so thats what, $162+? I am going to wait a bit longer to check the spoilers, but the 5 Sol Rings definitely helps and YES, i want to get "full value" for him while i can.
Dan i definitely considered making you the middle man in the deal. We can discuss the commander sets and then maybe you have some cards in your trade binder i might need/want to complete the deal or you can acquire a few of the foils i have left to complete my cube. (I need the Aether Vial now, for example)

Thanks for the feedback, i wasnt sure if that sounded crazy or not.

I like two of the new generals revealed today, Tariel, Reckoner of Souls and The Mimeoplasm. A 4/7 flying vigilance guy is nothing to laugh at, especially since after combat they can grab a creature from your graveyard (the random part does kind of suck though). The Mimeoplasm is just awesome though, he'll strip a graveyard and come into play as a ridiculous huge guy; he's a super Necrotic Ooze for EDH.

Also.... SQUIRREL CATAPULT!

think about it. you obviously would rather put this on an opposing creature. it nullifies a threat to you and you only, and you don't really lose a card if someone else takes the creature out. plus that thing will beat on your opponents... so fun.

I'm not sure yet if I need that Squirrel Catapult for my token deck. I think I want that white Join Forces card though.

It's a very interesting card, even in a duel, and a good way of speeding up a slower format like Big Deck. I like this cards quite a bit, they're kind of like multi-kicker but across multiple players.

the land one is so much better than New Frontiers! yea that really does speed the game up. too bad yr opponents will get to untap first (all the more reason Orrery effects are so damn good in Highlander formats).

i imaging a 5-man BD game where we all sink like 8 mana into Collective Voyage... it's cool that it goes in turn order because if like 12 mana is paid by the time it gets to you, you really don't need to do it.

imagine also Pandemonium in play when someone casts the white one...

Anyone know if these decks are going to be available at large retail stores like Walmart and Target? I got a bad feeling they're going to be real scarce real fast. Maybe I should ask Chuck about buying them off him.

That's what they said about Elspeth vs Tezzeret. I think they'll be scarce for the first 2 weeks, then they'll flood the market.

I was told by a guy at ABU Games that these will not be scarce like the FTV series and should keep their MSRP price. Who knows though, he could be wrong, they could short ship, or short print, or the market on them could still go way up.

Zedruu is awesome. What a fun card that will be to try to build around.

Yeah, I like the RWU general a lot, I've already starting thinking of fun ways to abuse the hell out of him. I need to draw up a list of permanents you don't want... like Kher Keep tokens or something.

I'm just a bit concerned about availability since people on the MTGS forums have been talking about the mark-up on pre-orders.

I stand corrected, pre order pricing is on the rise, and the talk is that the initial releasements are being short shipped a bit which should hike prices on the sets and singles -atleast initially.

You used to be able to buy all 5 sets preorder for $100 to $120 or so and now you cant find all 5 set preorders for less than $160.

Not even sure my Jace for all 5 plan is going to happen.

Gathering Magic has the full lists for each box set.

I think 3 are predominately better/more useful lists than the other 2.

Lets see who agrees.

they'll be at Target for MSRP. just gotta grab them before they disappear. i have a feeling they'll be there for a little longer because a bunch of the pricy Duel Decks were there long after they came out gathering dust.
