I could see it being real. Seems a little odd to me the discard isn't random though.

If it's real is a very powerful card, since choosing to discard rather than random can set up some choice plays in both constructed and limited. I'm a little skeptical though, since it's drawing a lot of parallels to another card in this block, Desperate Ravings, and I don't remember any other red cards with selective discard.

Really digging the flavor on Zombie Apocalypse, I really want to build a BU Grimgrin EDH deck now. I also like the Chalice in limited, could be a fun limited archetype if there are other, decent, life-gain cards.

Edit: Not sure I'm a big fan of the Fateful Hour mechanic, since if it's triggered by being at 5-life or less a single Brimstone Volley could end the game.

Definitely some potential fun here, atleast with where the mechanics could go. Gonna need one of those Doomsayers.

I hope there's something with an activated ability to give Undying to something, or an Undying thing with a good comes into play ability. Seems like a fun idea to give Persist to an Undying thing or vice versa.

Thinking of putting him in my WUR EDH deck with that general that donates permanents to gain you life/cards.

Seems like a pretty slick set so far, I'm liking the 'Increasing' flashback cards that double their effect when cast from the graveyard. The two revealed so far seem pretty good.

The Reaver is sick. You do not draw 3 for his 3 damage though right? Just checking the wording.

They should have made Ghoultree cc10 but given it trample.

Hellllllllooooo...

Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
2WB
Planeswalker - Sorin Mythic Rare
+1: Put a 1/1 black Vampire creature token with lifelink onto the battlefield.
-2: You get an emblem with "Creatures you control get +1/+0."
-6: Destroy up to 3 target creatures and/or other planeswalkers. Return each card put into a graveyard this way to the battlefield under your control.
3

Most likely replacing the beloved Debtor's Knell in the cube.

If not, then what?

Vindicate
Mortify
Angel of Despair
Stillmoon Cavalier

the Knell can go for this. Vindicate and Angel of Despair cannot go.

If I had to choose it would be between Mortify and Knell with a strong leaning towards the Knell.

I'm a huge fan-boy for Debtor's Knell, I'd probably boot Stillmoon Cavalier first (though that goes against Dan's dream of making agro actually played in his cube).

Still, a very awesome PW, I like that his negative mode creates emblems, that's a first. Still, he meets the criteria of a good PW; protects himself, provides powerful card advantage, and his ultimate pretty much wins the game.

Is Mortify really needed? There is so much good removal in your cube, and not too many enchantments...

You draw two cards if he does both first strike and regular damage, though. Not bad at all...

Yeah, Thalia has good credentials in a long-line of 2-cc creatures that screw over combo/control. The 1-toughness sucks, but having first-strike helps mitigate that. I expect she'll see a lot of play at least in people' sideboards.

And yeah, I can definitely see the Lich in a Big Deck or two.

This set keeps getting better!

Vorapede
2GGG
Creature - Insect Mythic Rare
Vigilance, trample
Undying (When this creature dies, if it had no +1/+1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.)
"If you think you've killed one, guess again."
-Thalia, Knight-Cathar
5/4

Missing haste... but quite brutal. I could see this replacing Kodama of the North Tree or Thornling in the cube.

I can see the bug being very big in Pod style decks, but I can't see someone actually paying retail. Still, I think he beats Kodama for a spot in the cube.

On the plus side of Vorapede vs Kodama:

He survives wrath effects.
He's bigger (eventually).
He has vigilance (is this relevant).

On the minus side:

He dies to Swords, Path, and O Ring.
He can be stolen (but I get him back when he dies... or do I. It looks worded differently from Persist which used the word "owner").
He is hit by Pacifism effects.

I think the surviving of wrath effects outweighs the vulnerability to a few more pieces of spot removal.

This set keeps getting awesomer!

Vault of the Archangel

Land Rare
{T}: Add 1 to your mana pool
2WB, {T}: Creatures you control gain deathtouch and lifelink until end of turn.
"For centuries my creation kept this world in balance. Now only her shadow remains."
-Sorin Markov

Soon to wreck a limited game near you!

Are they doing enemy color utility lands now? The cycle from Innistrad was awesome (Gavony Township, Kessig Wolf Run, etc.), so I can't wait to see what else they have for this set.

Yeah, a great card all around, I even like the flavor text. I wonder if they're going to do a full cycle of activated a ability lands like INN.

Between this land, Sorin, and the decent token makers already released I wonder if BW tokens will make a come back.
