Sample D: Triple Zen Draft 1st pick review
Ok last one...
P1P1, what do you take and why?
Marsh Flats
Khalni Gem
Living Tsunami
Vampire Hexmage
Turntimber Grove
Narrow Escape
Mindless Card
Welkin Tern
Nimbus Wings
Caller of Gales
Crypt Ripper
Cliff Threader
Kor Cartographer
Journey to Nowhere
Forest
Ignoring the Flats, The Journey is almost the clear autopick here to me except... that damn Tsunami can really make wins happen fast. Its just between those 2 right? Or is it even a choice really? Journey is splash, Tsunami is very much not but is game breaking.
I saw someone using adventuring gear on tsunami and it was devastating, so i cant get that idea out of my head...

Re: Sample D: Triple Zen Draft 1st pick review
I like Journey here... again, cheap removal.
Mindless Card... nice.

Re: Sample D: Triple Zen Draft 1st pick review
Its either journey, tsunami, or vampire hexmage. The journey is an awesome piece of removal, is in a good color, and can also be easily splashed.
The tsunami is an uncommon bomb, is a color that is rarely drafted and easy to make into a mono colored deck, and has great synergy with landfall.
The hexmage is a solid 2 drop, in the best draft color, but is definately slightly weaker than the other 2 cards.
Not taking the journey practically screams that you arent playing white and is great because you can get the hookup pack 2. If you take the journey you are still pretty open to whatever gets passed to you.
I would either take the hexmage or tsunami. I would rather set myself up for an insane vampires deck or an insane mono blue deck than have the white removal spell.
