M12 Planeswalker change

bye-bye to the weakest starting planeswalkers... HELLO Gideon and Sorin!!!

i'm guessing that all of the remaining three originals will be their SECOND versions. including JACE 2.0 and Chandra Ablaze, and a yet unseen Garruk. you heard it here first. from me.

I'm guessing it's going to be Chandra Ablaze, Jace TMS, and standard Garruk.

Edit: Also, why does Gideon look like Russel Crowe?

why would they change only four of the planeswalkers?! that's really not R&D's MO. i know they hobbled the Leyline cycle with one reprint in M11, but i seriously doubt they would do it with the HIGHEST profile cycle, the core-set planeswalkers. we've had those original 5 for almost 4 years and 3 printings. it's time to let them go. all of them.

plus there is plenty of time to add a new Garruk, AND it fits the storyline.

on second thought, the original Garruk is plausible, i guess.

but it stands that, along with the MBS basics, i don't like it!

I'm kind of hoping now there will be a new, more aggressively costed, Chandra. For example:

Chandra at War 1RR
Planeswalker - Chandra
+1: Up to two target creatures cannot block this turn
-1: Chandra at War deals 3 damage to target creature or player
-5: You gain an emblem with 'Sacrifice a non-land, non-enchantment permanent you control, that permanent deals 2 damage to target creature or player.'

Jim, that is one of the best card designs I have ever seen. I would love to see this card printed. The -1 ability might be too powerful, but I would have to playtest it to figure it out. Awesome card Jim.

other than using Greater Gargadon language in the emblem ("artifact, creature, or land" cause when wouldn't red sac lands?), yea Jim, i totally agree with John.

Probably not sac lands, since you instantly win the game 99 games out of 100 as soon as someone does the ultimate. No other planeswalker ultimate wins the game on the spot. Even Chandra 1 requires you get them to 10 first.
