Venue Change

i think a fair share of this forum community is fed up with the environment at AU.

as such, i think we should find an alternative place to draft. unfortunately, there really isn't any other place wherein FNM = booster draft.

so, i suggest branching out. drafting on another day. i really think the only reason to not change venue is the scant chance to pick up a FNM foil. this rarely happens for most of us (and not nearly as often as it did at Dimension). stop being cheap and pick the ones you want on eBay! haha

so far, i've seen that Comics and More at the Plymouth Meeting Mall does a weekly (bi-weekly?) draft on Tuesdays at 6pm. also there's a place called 7th Dimension (pretty much walking distance from Jim's) that does a draft too. search around and see what you come up with.

I am fine with going anywhere, I will just need to bum rides until I get a car.

Again, I am not huge on being involved in events. I'd much rather buy packs then pay to be in a draft, because I know I will not place high enough to get any prizes nor will I make good picks. I'll go to hang out, maybe enter when I have the money, and if people want to pay for me to enter I can rare draft and give them all the cards at the end xD Would be good to do that in-case of an odd number of players.

Redcaps sundays at 5

I second Redcaps. It has the most players I've seen who actually just like to play the game.

I recognize it's far, but that's not as much of a problem for a Sunday evening.

I can't do mid-week drafts due to my work schedule, so I'm more than happy to head to Redcaps on Sunday, though as Dan said, it's pretty far.

IDK anything about Redcaps, other then it being a 35 min drive from my house.
Like I said, I will go anywhere, I will just need to bum a ride to and from if it is that far.

Lets just all chip in money, get a van, and hire an artist who has done some MTG card art to draw something amazing all over it. Anyone else in?

I want to try Comics and More, I went there yesterday, they said there draft is only ten bucks, and that they pay out to third place. He also said that their normal crowd is only like twelve to fifteen players. Tuesday night, he said they like to start a little early, say around Six thirty. who's in?

I am in, 10$ I can afford and be fine with getting last place. I should have a ride there, I might just need one back.

i can make 6:30. the website said 6... that's pushing it if i have to pick people up.

People could take the 98 bus out of Ambler to get there. Drops right at the mall. I used to do that every week a while back, went over there for Heroclix on mondays.
Of course, the getting back is where a ride is needed.

I would try it, as Plymouth Meeting Mall is about equidistant to Redcap's. However, I get home at 5:45; there's no way I can make it there by 6.

I have spoken to some players who go there, and apparently they do draft on Sunday afternoon. Seemed like a laid-back bunch.

Sunday afternoon would be great for me. If you can get some more details that'd be really helpful!

so steve it may be six, we could take the bus there if you promise to come nothing like being stuck in plymouth meeting. let us know.

The store near my house, 7th Dimensions Collectibles, is trying to start a bi-weekly draft group, but they don't have quite enough people yet. They are having a draft this Wednesday at 7pm.

My schedule might be changing soon, so I might be able to make mid-week drafts, though I think I might be taking a break from drafting for a few weeks.

doubt tomorrow is going to be any good. i'll let you know as we get closer.

If tomorrow ends up falling through, are there any plans for the weekend? Like Redcap's, AU (which seems unlikely), or somewhere else?

I'd be up for hanging out and playing Big Deck or Cubing this weekend, like Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
