So ive been thinking of this R/W control deck, maybe someone out there is already running it, i dunno.

I havent put it all togther but the idea is pretty simple.
Control the opponent's board while locking down or destroying their land long enough to play and win with your win condition.

Scepter of Dominance
Ajani Vengeant
World Queller
DOJ
Pitfall Trap
Lightning Bolt
Burst Lightning
Maybe Martial Coup
A Baneslayer or 2
Oblivion Ring
Pyroclasm and/or Fallout
Luminarch Ascension maybe?
Banefire
Goblin Ruinblaster
Lavaball Trap?

Thoughts?
Am i missing anything?
Can it work?
Am i the worst magic player ever?

I would run Martial Coup. It can provide either chumps OR a win condition late game. I would also consider some sort of borderpost/knight of the white orchid interaction, since you can gain some cards that way and still have a nice creature in the early game. A good starting point is seeing if the deck can beat Jund. If it can, continue to develop. If not, scrap it because Jund is more than 50% of the field right now.

PtE benefits the opponent in a way you are trying to control with this deck, so maybe a 2 of?

I had also considered it being R/W/U and running counter magic along with maybe wall of denial and other crap i hadnt thought all the way through yet haha.

I have been running this deck idea through my head for a while now, here is an updated mind fart...

I'm still interested in building a UWR LD/Control type deck although im fairly certain it cant be tier 1.

Ive gathered the following list of cards within those colors that could be considered.

Spreading Seas early and Aether Tradewinds on your Spreading Seas and their land a few turns later seems pretty damn good. Tradewind on your Mirage or Goblin Ruinblaster is decent also.

If i can find a way to semi-consistently curve out with a turn 2 & 3 spreading seas and/or silence combo followed by Ajani or Jace2 and then turn 5 Lodestone or World Queller i would be thrilled with the deck.
With the Chalice, Ajani V or Jace2 turn 3 would be sick.

The thought of a mid game Archive Trap followed by Roiling Terrain makes me feel a little giddy to be honest.

Am i missing any cards that could be considered useful in this type of deck?

Not this week, but by next week i hope to run a version of this and see how it does.

Need a few more essential pieces like Colonnades and a few more arid mesa/DOJ and then im going to run it even though i own zero glacial fortress.
