7/29 - Cube, Actually
Format for next week is Extended Peasant Multiplayer.
Find rules here.
Basically, 60 card minimum decks in which all but 5 cards must be common, and those last 5 may be uncommon. When choosing cards that were printed multiple times, you go with the most common commonality (ie, if a card was printed both as a common and a rare, it counts as a common in Peasant Magic). There is a banned list on the page above, though I doubt any of us were planning on playing with a playset of Mana Drain or Library of Alexandria anyway (especially because it's not extended legal).

Boy am I feeling lazy... we can just cube if you want too. In fact, I think I'd rather. Maybe alternate format every other week or something like that.
Re: 7/29 - Cube, Actually
yea, i'm not going to have time to make a peasant deck between now and Wednesday. Cube is ok with me.
Re: 7/29 - Cube, Actually
Figures. Mine is already done. I just had to make some minor adjustments to an old deck I had lying around. Oh well.
Whatever you guys end up deciding to do works for me.

Tis no big deal. Just gives me more time to tweak the deck.

Who's in tonight?
Hey James, I'd love to have you out for an uncommon cube draft sometime. Let's talk about the safety of my neighborhood some more (I swear it's safe, but I understand your concern).

I should be there, as long as Steve is going. Been feeling a little sick today, but nothing bad. I'll likely be fine later.
So we're Cubing tonight, yes?

Re: 7/29 - Cube, Actually
What a crazy night.
I drafted a nasty little reminder that artifact and enchantment removal can be crippling, even in multiplayer (especially in multiplayer?).
Mine was a WGr deck that featured Genesis and Debtor's Knell with such lovelies as Viridian Shaman, Qasali Pridemage, Indrik Stomphowler and Duergar Hedge-Mage (who never saw play). I also learned how to make friends early with a play of t2 Gaddock Teeg, t3 Burning Tree Shaman. My recursion engines were pretty sick with some great creatures to abuse with it as well as some powerhouse finishers in their own right (Pristine Angel, Oversoul of Dusk, Kumano). In face, all I was missing was lifegain, as Burning Tree Shaman, Fetchlands, and overall disdain for my opponents led to my life dropping waaay too quickly. I unfortunately missed a chance to pick up Pulse of the Fields and Loxodon Warhammer (warhammer would have been awesome).
Cards you never saw me play: Thawing Glaciers, Armageddon, Aven Mindcensor (yeah, looking at you Mr. Mystical Teachings twice in a row, Mr. Vampiric Tutor on a Panoptic Mirror, and Mr. Reiterate said Vampiric Tutor).
Had a great time, despite being knocked out early in both games we played.

Re: 7/29 - Cube, Actually
i think it's "especially" in multiplayer only when you have like 6 ways of blowing up artifacts and enchantments PLUS a way to recur some of them.
Dan, you didn't make friends. neither did John W, but not to that extent. i was too friendly with Brandon because he had no chance in the beginning of the second game. then he exploded with 'monger and whatnot.
my deck was really weak. never got to use Tinker, and i really should have held on to that Upheaval that one time. :sigh:

the wife and i are so focused on saving for this visa processing fee we have kind of agreed to mutually cut all needless spending until its over. So im taking a bit of a hiatus. Cube doesnt cost much, but the train rides definitely fall under "needless spending" at the moment.
Sept 1st is our deadline, hopefully we have it wrapped up by then, and i can "come out and play" again.
Also, im not so much "afraid" of traveling to your home. I used to take the subway home at broad and erie for years at midnight, alone in my caucasioness.
Im just the careful and prepared type and i dont like traveling through a potentially bad neighborhood for the first time by myself not knowing exactly where im going.

Re: 7/29 - Cube, Actually
I'm sure this is just another brief speedbump in the process, James, and it looks to be the last one. I wish you best of luck with it.
My neighborhood is much safer than broad and erie, in my opinion... um, no, actually that's a clear-cut objective statement. I've walked around late at night aound here and felt pretty safe, though I haven't done it a whole lot. The 2 or 3 blocks from my house to the train station are in a pretty good neighborhood, and even the train station itself is pretty safe.
Some of the guys down at Redcap's have been asking to cube there, so when I head down at some point, we should play there. Free and local; doesn't get much better than that.
