If you take a look at my foil need list for my cube in the trade forum youll see some heavy hitting foils i need on there.

If you see them at reasonable prices grab them you know im good for it.
Just the high end stuff though, i trust you know the difference between the $3 foils and the $10+ foils.

Especially foil brainstorm, gush, and sol ring.

I did some trading saturday and had a pretty good time. There wasnt much good trading though, cause there were about 15 "dealers" hanging around and trying to get cards for cheap. Pretty tough field to battle though. There was also too much focus on zendikar, and the other standard cards were barely even looked at.

I did get lucky at the end of the day though. I was trading with a judge, and then they started handing out the judge foils for the day. I picked up a judge minds desire and orim's chant from one guy, and a judge windswept heath and wooded foothills from another.

We're better off trading at the big Prerelease, where the real bargains are. I was all over the place trading, though I think I broke even. It was odd, though; I had a hard time nailing down prices, especially on foils. I traded away my foil Ravenous Trap, Guul Draz Vampire, and Into the Roil for foil Feldon's Cane and Relentless Rats, and somehow ended up above on the deal. I traded some Zendikar cards for a bunch of foils for the cube, and was later surprised that foil Loxodon Hierarch goes for $10 on Star City.

foils are some of the best trades, because almost no one keeps up with the prices. Hanging around the vintage crowd, and playing vintage, I have learned just how expensive and in demand foils can be. Also, in this area, a lot of semi pro's and tournament regulars want to pimp out decks. This increases the demand in the area, if not the value. Casual players almost never know the true value of their foils, cause they just dont care.
