instead of going card-by-card, i figured i'd try a different approach to tackling this format. because it's a core set, many times the clear winner is obvious. however, sometimes, you have two or more winners in your pack. what DO you do?

for instance, i had this choice last night. (Dan, you already made your selection)

CHOICE 1
Rune-Scarred Demon
Mind Control
...trash

what would you choose first pick first pack? put your answer in spoiler tags.

i'll add more questions as the day goes on.

ok, ok, let's get a little harder then.

CHOICE 2

you've drafted a pretty solid bloodthirst red pool after the first pack, albeit with a weak removal suite. you've only dabbled in black for some bloodthirsty fun. uh oh, this is what you've opened 2nd pack (note: in this hypothetical, you are a billionaire and card values are irrelevant):

Trollhide
Chandra's Outrage
Reclaim
Bloodrage Vampire
Fiery Hellhound
Garruk's Companion
Stampeding Rhino
Stave Off
Stormfront Pegasus
Auramancer
Forest
Consume Spirit
Demon's Horn
Fireball
Primeval Titan

not close? wow i gotta get better at this.

CHOICE 2.5

now what if i replaced the Fireball with a Mind Control?

i guess what i'm getting at is: "how willing are you to CHANGE your game plan?"

I will say that if I'm in red/green and pack 2 I open a Grave Titan, I'll probably take it over almost anything else.
