Standard Roulette

Post  Slyphidine on Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:41 pm

Hey all!

Tonight I made a major purchase via craigslist, and as a result, not only do I have the ability to play any standard deck I want, but I also have some extras of some tournament staples (Jace 2, Primeval Titan, Fauna Shaman, etc.) that are also Big Deck cards.

You can see my complete acquisition here:

Also, I got a TON of promos, including the Plane Tember City, and the Scheme Perhaps You've Met My Cohort. Steve, are you in need of the Plane?

I incorporated it into my binder last night. It was impressive, until I realized that it was just the natural consequence of spending a shitload of money on cards.

Asking price... 1 grand.

I popped it into the price guide at apathyhouse.com, and it came up with $1250. That's an aggregate collection of ebay prices, so if the ebay prices come to $1250, then I know I'm getting a good deal at $1000.

He had already sold a Primeval and 2 Eldrazi Monument, but it's still a deal. And the promos he threw in were quite nice too (I think 10 fnm Calciderm, 15 fnm Reckless Wurm, and 30 wpn Syphon Mind, as well as 20 promo planes and schemes). I also got a few quality deckboxes, a binder, and a nice box. All in all, I think I could sell it for $1000, and it does give me the ability to play my choice of standard decks for at least the next month Smile. 4 Jaces, 4 Baneslayer, 4 Vengevine, 4 Fauna Shaman, and 4 of every rare land out of the way makes the rest much easier.

Can I borrow some cards so I can play too!
