M10 Prerelease

for those of us who made it to a M10 prerelease, how'd you do?

i pulled out 3-1 at Cyborg One with no bomb rares, and creating a quickie RG splash B (for Doom Blade, aka not Terror).

my rares:
Djinn of Wishes
Indestructibility
Sunpetal Grove
Drowned Catacomb
Ball Lightning
Great Sable Stag

4 duds, and 2 not-bombs. i made due with my Bolt, Fireball, and two Prodigal Pyromancers.

I missed it. I was in VA Beach trying to convince my friends (ex-Magic players) to go to a local one, but in the end alcohol and skanks grinding on poles at a beach bar won out. Where you going for the release?

i liked Cyborg One... A LOT.

simply because there's an open-air bar next door with hot milfs. and i fall in love with Doylestown every time i'm there.

but that's far for you, so wherever is fine with me.

I went 2-2 but should have been atleast 3-1 if not for XR.
Losing to fireball in 3 different games when being in position to nearly win all 3 times is not that fun.

Rares were 2x Silence, 1 Pithing Needle, the 9/9 G shroud guy, Siege Gang Commander and something else im forgetting.

I also drafted once, mostly B with splash r for bolt and that sparky come into play guy and while I liked what I drafted it was single elim and I played a very good player I always see at major events and he creamed me pretty good.

Cyborg One was ok when I was last there, but it is extremely far for me... about an hour, maybe more. No easy way to get there.

James, get enough money rares?

as an aside, i was really glad John O and i hadn't made the top 8. we didn't want to be there until 1am. ask him when he makes it to this forum how HIS night went.

I went 2-2 but it should have been 3-1 but I made mistakes that I shouldn't have.

what about the stealing guy, and the double Garruk that went unnoticed because the guy had a Fog?!

edit: btw the fourth round some kid played Birds, then Garruk, then a Hypnotic Spector (three of John O's rares). weird shit.

yeah I wasn't going to mention the double garruk issue, but the stealing guy bothered me a little.

Was there literally a guy who stole, or are you referring to a card?

there were two cards (rares) left on a table, and I was him start to take them, I told him to put them back, what if they were his would he want someone to take them, or just leave them alone, he eventually put them back and the owner got them back.

Oh yeah my 6th rare was the BR dual.


In draft i didnt really get anything decent. I drafted to win but that got me nowhere. haha.
I swiped a Time Warp went it come around, thats about it.
