9/27 - C&M Draft

Anyone going to C&M to draft today? I assume it will be M12 for one last time, and I might not be there depending if I can get my phone fixed or not over my lunch break (it's currently on the fritz).

Getting passed a foil Grave Titan? Awesome...

How the hell did that happen? Only way that makes any sense at all is if there was also a Planeswalker in the pack, and even then...

Yeah, he opened a Garruk in pack 3. The weird thing is though I think he was already in UB, so I would have just taken the titan and won rather than playing UBG like he did. His deck was good, with 2x Mind Control, Doom Blade, Garruk, and Jade/Azure Mages, but I think his mana-base really screwed him over when he played me in the first round (not enough green or blue to play his bombs, drawing a ton of land, etc).

I was pretty much mono-blue until pack 3, when I got passed the titan. I grabbed 2x Soren's Thirst, a Sengir Vampire, and combined it with a Wring Flesh I had picked up pack 1 to build a crazy deck (3x Aether Adepts, 2x Unsommon, Dijinn of Wishes, Jace's Archivist, etc).

I'm glad I decided to go last night, ending M12 with a win helps remove the bitter taste Core sets leave in my mouth.

Edit: Also, drawing 8 cards of Archivist is awesome. Got to find some way to put him in my Big Decks.
