Sept 3-4: Philadelphia Pro-Tour

So this is to just get our little group organized, to see who's going down to Philly either Saturday or Sunday for the Pro-Tour. I'm planning on being there on Saturday (and probably Sunday) around 9am when the doors open for the side-events and to scope out the vendors. I'm planning on doing some drafts and 2HG provided I can find a partner.

I'll be there both days (and perhaps Thursday and Friday evening).

I plan on having the cube with me for impromptu drafts. Chris and I also discussed having the Type 15 championship there. You can read the rules at type15.posterous.com. Essentially, it's a three deck tournament using 15 card highlander rules. So if you have three 15 Card Highlander decks, you're in (we talked about hosting it at a bar, but we'll see what happens).

I'm planning on being there Saturday, though I'm not certain I'll be there yet. If I go, I'm expecting to get down to the city around 8am. A bit early perhaps, but gives me time to tool around before any of the events start.

In the other thread, James mentioned something about maybe trying some 2HG this weekend, so you could probably team up with him. And I might be up for giving it a shot as well, won't really know till I'm there.

Sunday I will be there dreadfully early to try and get in on the big draft.
Saturday, I'm thinking I will still be down there early to check it all out, do the vendors etal, before settling in for Magicy goodness, cubes, and 15 Card Madness. TYPE 15.

I'll be there pretty early as well. Since a number of us are interested in doing the Draft on Saturday it might make sense to meet up beforehand.

Chris mentioned the big draft on Sunday. That one looks much cooler.

its looking like i'll need to sell a few cards just to have money to play. i have a couple of chase mythics that might get me there, or i may just hang and cube and try to trade for foils i need for my cube. who knows. ill be there sat for sure though.

How early is everyone going sat?

I'm planning on being there Saturday morning at 8:30. Do we want to try to meet up around 9am on the Convention Center Lobby?

Edit: I will be bringing my EDH decks and at least one of my Big Decks, so hopefully we can get some games in tomorrow as well.

i will be there as early as possible on saturday too. I will probably just trade all day and then go down again on sunday to play. I will have my other group of magic friends with me too, so hopefully everyone can meet.

im not interested in any of the events that serve as a qualifier for the pro tour, so it looks like either 2hg or the money draft for me.

Ok, just spent about 9 hours at the Pro Tour and had an awesome time. I picked up some hard-to-find foils, met some great people, and did some cubing. Trading there is bozonkers too.

I'll post my acquisitions of the day in the cube thread.
