Duel Decks: Venser vs. Koth

YES YES YES i'm getting like 4 of these... the Venser deck will be filled with Momentary Blink and Reveillark and Mulldrifter!!! Koth will have Mountain-related stuff like Jaws of Stone, Seismic Strike, and Earth Servant.
that's 4 days after my birthday, so happy b-day to me!

- Two Planeswalkers gave their all to save a world—one compassionate, one calculating.
The Planeswalker Koth, from the metal plane of Mirrodin, sought help when his world darkened. He traveled to Dominaria to enlist allies and met fellow Planeswalker Venser.
When Venser recognized the threat to Koth's world was none other than Phyrexia, he knew that the only hope for Mirrodin was to find its maker. But that would mean forsaking its people in the meantime.
Koth would rather die than turn his back on his fellow Mirrans. But Venser all but knew they would die anyway if they failed to reach Karn, his former mentor and creator of Mirrodin.
Two Planeswalkers, one goal, very different methods. Recreate the struggle to lead the way to Mirrodin’s salvation.

I will be interested in getting a cheap promo Venser. That's about it.
It would be cool if Venser, Shaper Savant were in there too!

I'll be picking up the Venser one for sure, just because he's an awesome PW for Big Deck or EDH. I'll probably grab a Koth one as well since having a promo copy of that card would be nice.

They're both together, like Knights vs Dragons, Jace vs Chandra, etc. These are duel decks, not specialty premium decks.

i think he thought from a marketing standpoint, it's Venser vs. Koth. "which one will you choose (to buy)?"

Meh, it's been a couple of months since I bought a PW duel deck, so I forgot they were sold together. Might have to trade for a couple copies of Venser once this is out.

nothing but colors and likely fitting a theme for each of these decks. i dunno, it seems to work. i think Jaws of Stone was in the Knights v Dragons set though.
what else would be in Venser? but with Koth, they're gonna have to branch out from burn spells and dragons. stuff with mountains and earth elementals for sure, but maybe some kind of red theme like echo or chroma or something.

Echo is a really bad idea if Venser's deck ends up with a flicker theme. I don't think they'd be that mean.
I could see Blink and Mull, they're nothing bad. Reveillark... I don't know. If Venser's deck has flicker as anything more than a minor theme, Lark is gonna be a bit too good in it.
I was just thrown off by how certain you seemed to be about those card possibilities. I wouldn't be surprised if they were just U/W and Red goodstuff-ish decks with a minor flicker and mountains-matter theme. You know, not fantastic decks, but with cards that hint towards the potential dedicated themes that are possible.
I wonder what the chances are of them using this as a chance to get some older cards from the Modern cardpool out there again? Koth's deck would probably be a reasonable place to plant an artifact or two from Mirrodin block, if they wanted.

i guess they could work around it with Blink and Venser's first ability, both of which can only target things you control or own, respectively. i just think it would be fun; i'm not convinced. total wishful speculation, not an assertion. Venser's "school" of Magic (teleportation) is my favorite in the game.
