Google Analytics

Last week I (on a whim) installed Google Analytics on mtgphilly just to see what kind of traffic we get. The results are somewhat shocking to me.

Take a guess of how many views we've gotten in the past week.

I'll post it after you post. There's other data that's interesting to me also.

I will say I installed it on neonandshy.com too. I've had 2 visitors there in the last week. Woo hoo!

im guessing you get alot more than you think. People google philly magic i bet and find it and read it over but dont bother to post.

1400 views in the past week

We average 530 visits per day, so close to 3500 per week. Huge amounts of that come from search traffic (as James guessed), though in one week we have 250-300 return visits, which I think accounts for more than just the 7 or so of us that post regularly.

I'm inclined to wonder if we could/should make this more than a platform for just our group. As long as it requires little to no effort anyway...

I mention it in passing with friends in Philly but ive never seen any of them join and post. they could be reading though.

That's cool. Taking in account that "Most users ever online was 53 on Tue Aug 16, 2011" we have: the site has TONS of guest readers per a registered user.

In more recent weeks (aka, non-spoiler season), our visitorship has dropped dramatically. We're down to about 100 per day. Still not bad for a site that does zero advertising!
