interesting rules stuff that i didn't know!

Q: The game between my opponent and me is down to to wire, and I'll be able to finish him off if I survive into my next turn. Unfortunately, my opponent just cast a Hellkite Overlord that will kill me first if I let it deal damage to me. The only answer I have in my hand is Hallow. Will that do the trick?

A: Yes, it will! Hallow can target a creature spell on the stack, and the resulting prevention effect will apply to the permanent that the creature spell becomes. All of a sudden, your opponent won't feel very motivated to attack you with his beatstick, so you bought yourself a bit of time.

Q: I control Omnath, Locus of Mana and have gggg floating. I cast Momentous Fall and sac Omnath. How many cards do I draw?

A: You'll draw five and gain 5, unless you really want to only draw one card and gain 1 life. The mana makes Omnath a 5/5, and then you can pay the costs for Momentous Fall in any order. If you pay the mana first, Omnath is a 1/1 when you sacrifice him, so sad. But if you sacrifice Omnath first, the game will see that it was a 5/5 the last time it was hanging around the battlefield, and paying the mana later won't change that.

@ The first question - Does that mean Hallow prevents and gains damage from a single attacking creature? If so that card is AWESOME!

@ The second question - Gotta love how this game works ... You basically can drop any card that has an additional cost first and then pay the cost ... Although, it makes Bond of Agony bad, pay 19 life, pay 19B, counter.

1st question: only if it was a spell on the stack earlier that turn, i.e. it was cast this turn. target it with Hallow as it's on the stack, and the prevention ability will carry over when it's a permanent.

:O Very interested ... Nice cheap way to deal with Haste and creatures that ping stuff when they hit play.
