3/12 AU Draft

It's $15 and to be honest, it's not my favorite place to go. Some immature and unsavory characters there, and that's just Jim.

It's not an especially casual store either.

yea, but we'll be there! seems Jim is the last holdout on this shithole. me and John O are fed up with it too.

I will stop by, but from the sounds of it I won't play.

And I'm all up for finding a different store to draft at, but find that elusive "new location" is the problem. I'm only available to draft weekend nights because of my work schedule, and while I like draft at Red-Caps on Sunday it is a pretty long haul to drive there and back. If you guys can find somewhere in our general area and you like I'll be more than happy to draft there.

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not a huge fan of AU either. I don't hate it as much as most of you, but I'd be more than happy to draft somewhere else. It's just there's not a lot of options.

I shant be there tonight. Just not feeling like draftin' this week.

As for my opinion on AU, I'm indifferent. Tis a place to play, and I haven't seen anything about the place that's too intolerable. Of course, I could be (and probably are) blind.
And seeing as I'm a pathetic bastard and have to catch a ride to places with you guys, I really don't care where we end up at.

I have no issues with AU, but I don't go on days when Magic is going on and judging by my relations in the past with serious players of Magic (or any game for that matter) I probably would feel the same way the majority of you guys do.

When I am there, it's usually only for RPs and then it's just the RP group and one of the guys who works there. But I have been there for Pokemon tournaments and I can tell you for a fact I HATE the group for that. I had to play a guy who was in his early 50s, brought his mother, (who also played) and I had to play on his playmat or he would throw a fit. Then I played a casual player who was cool, but he had no grasp of the game; pretty much bought a starter and a few packs from the look of his deck. And lastly I played a guy who was smug as soon as we sat down, throughout the entire game he heckled me to speed up my turns or would laugh and say I made bad moves, and when I finally beat him he was an asshole the rest of the tournament.

But the players at places shouldn't turn you away from the place. The store owner seemed nice enough when I have been there, but he mostly kept to himself which is fine. It's the smug players I can't stand (but they are everywhere) and judges like Dorian who make me wish I had a weapon so I could just kill them on the spot. She is also the reason I stopped going to pre-releases and she is a major part of me leaving MTG.

I wish Redcaps drafted friday nights.

Ill likely be at Redcaps tonight to attempt to acquire Jace2's and maybe play standard if i can reborrow the Jace2s i need to run my deck.

You should know that since the smaller prereleases started, she doesn't judge downtown anymore.

And with all my contempt, I may be there tonight to draft (nothin' else to do...). Maybe I'll just bring the cube and see if there are any takers.

I'm really not sure. I'm leaning towards AU just because I know a bunch of you will be there. But I may not make it all.

normally we show up at the latest possible moment, and John O and i leave at the earliest. god, the assholitude of the people there is really starting to wear on me. i hate when people shuffle my unsleeved deck!

I left early cause the one guy kept looking at me and he kept saying that he needed to watch there stuff or someone would take it. I was the only one not playing, so obviously he was talking about me. Plus, this guy looked like he raped little kids in his free time. Did anyone else here the one guy meowing when he was looking through his cards during the draft?

Also, the arrogance of some of the players there really began to piss me off. Someone was talking about if he could rip up the cards he got in his first pack because they were bad and earlier the same guy was throwing a fit because he was a 'collector' and the store had no Japanese packs.

I don't care if you want to rip up the best card in the world or the worst card in the world, you shouldn't be ripping up Magic cards. It's the biggest dick move I can think of and it is insulting to the game. It's people like that that made me quit Magic, thank God I didn't play or else I would have had to stick around.

that place blows. i'm starting a grass-roots initiative on this forum to go somewhere else. i'm looking at Comics and More in the Plymouth Meeting Mall for Tuesday draft.
