Different Format
So I took a crack at a making a different format after seeing the 15 card highlander and this is what I came up with:
I played a few games quickly to try and iron out the issues and it works really good. It's really fast paced. Suggestions? Comments?

- Spoiler:
- MTG Deck Building
-Players start off with a deck of 20 basic lands, 4 copies of each type.
-The "Archive" is a deck that remains in the center of the table
-The archive contains 300 cards, a minimum of 30 cards of each color and minimum of 20 non-basic lands
-The archive follows normal high lander rules, but cannot contain basic lands
-The archive is shuffled and the top nine cards are placed in center
-Once a turn order is picked, the first player draws 7 cards from their 20 card starting deck
-That player can then discard lands equal to the mana cost to "purchase" a card in the center row
-EX: One of the cards in the center costs 4R, you can discard four land cards of any type and one producing R to purchase it
-EX: If a card that costs zero is in the center, you may purchase it without having to spend anything, this means lands can be purchased for no cost
-Once a card is purchased, it is placed in your graveyard
-There is no limit to how many cards you purchase
-At the end of your turn, discard any cards not used in your hand and draw 7 cards from your deck
-If you cannot draw enough cards, shuffle your graveyard and treat it as your new library and continue drawing
-Spells you purchase you are allowed to cast without paying their mana cost
-You may discard three lands of any kind to purchase a basic land of any type and put it in your graveyard
-You may end your turn as long as you haven't used ANY cards in your hand to exile a card in the center
-At the end of your turn after you discard, draw 7 cards
-At the end of your turn, replace all purchased cards with the top card of the archive
-Any additional costs or costs to activate are payed for by discarding lands to equal to the cost
-EX: Equip cost of 2, discard two lands. Evoke of R, discard R producing land. Shimmering Grotto to get a mana of any color, discard the Grotto and a land.

Re: Different Format
I like the idea and it is something I will try out, but I feel like I could have made up a better format than this.
I wouldn't call it better, but rather wildly different. It doesn't seem to bear much resemblance to Magic the Gathering.

I've been trying to figure out a way so that you will be building a deck kind of like the cube or a draft, but you are competing for the cards. This was the rough idea I came up with.

The idea is that you are deck building a deck like with the cube or in a draft, but all the cards are visible and players take turns buying the cards with available mana in their hand.
I had another idea where you have 5 decks, all mono colored, and a sixth deck of lands. IDK how that would work out.
