Who's around for this Wednesday? Any preferences for format?

I was interested a while ago in the idea of posting a format a week in advance, and having to build a deck for that format; a nice little exercise in building under a constraint. It could be as simple as Standard or random multiplayer, and as complex as "All cards have to start with the same letter." I think we all have collections big enough to support it. What do you think?

Of course, my enthusiasm may have been for how well my Esper deck did. I agree, Magister Sphinx is degenerate, especially with Sharuum.

So we're keeping it to Extended (Onslaught to the present) for these decks, but we can spruce them up a bit.

the Asshole Award goes to me for taking out John W after he used like 6 cards to try and neutralize my Titanic Ultimatum.

I mostly liked how the Jund deck worked out for me. Getting fairly well mana screwed in the second game sucked. I'll have to check the land count, make sure I didn't mess something up. And Kresh gets absolutely ridiculous in multi-player. If only I had something handy to give him trample...

I need to spend more time adjusting it, as I was having a lot of trouble figuring out what to cut from it in the time I had before we started the games. Plus I need to see if I've got anything appropriate sitting around to add into it. Stuff that might fill in some of the gaps in it, like maybe more ways to deal with flyers, perhaps a little more removal, maybe a Warhammer. Don't know yet.
