1/11 C&M draft

i'm going, provided i don't get snowbound, and i can find the garage at the mall...

I built an awesome U/B Proliferate deck that went 2-1 (losing to Steve in some quick games to get out ahead of the snow). The deck basically revolved around 2x Thrumming Bird, 2x Necropede 2x Golem Foundry, 2x Instill Infection, Trigon of Rage, and Throne of Geth, and a lot of stall (counters, walls, etc). It was a blast to play and easy to draft (since most the cards are in low demand for the other archetypes). I pretty much know what I'm going to draft in the future, it might actually make this set fun!

Nope, sorry, Poison is the only archetype in this boring format.

sorry, if i get a solid infector 1st pick 1st pack, i force it. despite it COMPLETELY drying up in the 2nd and 3rd packs, i still had enough with the following list.

It's the most powerful, which tends to make drafting a bit of a drag.

The irony is that I'm also bored with this format. But this is usually about the time I get bored with it.

The problem is, you can draft whacky, fun-decks like Proliferate and Celebration, but doing so requires getting a few uncommons and rares, which can make it a bit tricky. My awesome deck last night pretty much only worked thanks to the uncommons, and some of them (like Necropede and Throne of Geth) are highly desired in other, more common archetypes.

see, trying to do something else is boring, because infect is fun to play. so why go with the boring, losing strategy when you can force the fun, powerful strategy, even without much support, and win?

That's what Magic does to you. It warps you from a bright-eyed boy to a crotchety old man in a matter of hours!

Also, Steve's comments totally took the wind out of my sails...
