Scars of Mirrodin Big Deck report

so what's hot in the new set for Big Deck so far?

Elspeth Tirel - a good reset button. that's about it.
Leonin Arbiter - good for John W's kind of strategy. might piss a few of us off.
Dissipation Field - someone will try this. Brandon?
Quicksilver Gargantuan - seems ok. not many people run Clone, so time will tell.
Exsanguinate - UGHHHHH might need to be tested and then voted on. i'll craft my prosecution.
Geth, Lord of the Vault - wow! i think i might try this guy. all the more reason to run graveyard removal...
Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon - there are ways to make this end games quickly in Big Deck.
Engulfing Slagwurm - kinda like Thorn Elemental. generic beef.
Liege of the Tangle - Gumby is a little too all-in for my taste. gotta wait a turn. you won't make it.
Venser, the Sojourner - YES PLEASE
Clone Shell - does anybody run Summoner's Egg? plus you could whiff.
Mindslaver - you've had plenty of time to consider this one.
Molten-Tail Masticore - seems pretty good!
Platinum Emperion - kinda has the same trappings as Platinum Angel.
Prototype Portal - you gonna have an another artifact in your hand wen you play this? maybe... Jim's artifact deck.
Steel Hellkite - beef + evasion + pseudo-Void
Sword of Body and Mind - only half as good as the other Swords. filling up your graveyard in BD is a good thing!
Wurmcoil Engine - seems ok for its price.

And can I say, I am delighted that Gumby finally got a card. I leave it to you to do a mock-up of "Gumby, Planeswalker from Hell."

Venser seems an auto-include in any deck that abuses CitP creatures, which is pretty much all of us (Loxodon Hierarch, Eternal Witness, Flame Tongue Kavu, etc), the rest it's hard to tell. The new Elspeth is extremely strong, but I'd be hard-pressed to remove the original.

Still, there are some awesome cards for my Artifact Big Deck, I just hope there's enough colored cards to help fill my 20-of-each requirement.

I know I definitely want Quicksilver Gargantuan for mine. Must clone things.
I'll probably run Exsanquinate for the exact reason Dan mentioned.
Aside from the Planeswalkers (which I'd probably toss in just because they be Planeswalkers that aren't of the 'build around me' type like Nissa or Chandra Ablaze), I haven't really reached much of a conclusion on the rest.

I'll have to wait to see more. I do like any cards with Proliferate; yes I will draw a card and add one counter to X permanents and/or players for 2U.
I'll probably use the Gold, Lead, Copper, Iron, Silver Myrs as well as the new 3 CC 2/2 Myr that taps for 2 colorless.
I'll probably grab Ven, Koth, and Elspeth, because I want my deck to have one of each PW anyway.
I like the Goblin Gaveleer a lot (R for a 1/1 Trample, +2/+0 per Equip on him) and I hope we get to see more of these little guys running around. Would make more a fun big deck theme, mini-voltrons :3
