Yup, Poison is back!

when i opened my M11 rules sheet and saw poison mentioned like 3 times, i knew it would be back. i don't know how i feel about this yet; i think i yet need to see the mana cost to P/T ratio on a spoiled card before i can offer a sound opinion.

this seems a little cleaner than Poisonous though. alleviates the noob problem of a creature with Snake Cult Initiation attached: "so i hit you for 1 damage, but you get three poison counters?"

I would imagine it's not what one would call ideal. I wonder if Ohran Viper would be a good paradigm.

Ohran Viper is still a damn powerful card (and used in the Cube),so a 1/3 or a 2/3 might not be too bad, especially in limited. It depends if it comes with any other abilities other than Infect.

A 1/2 creature with Flying and Infect would be great in limited (with a reasonable cost).

Yeah, what I meant was a 1/3 for 1GG. Typically that's less than desirable, but with witheroisonous (my new name for the ability) would it be playable/overpowered. A lot to think about.

Would multiple instances of this ability stack? From the current wording I would think so.

Double Poison, Double Wither. VERY NICE!

Wither and Lifelink don't stack, so neither does this. Double instances would say, in effect:

"This deals damage to creatures as -1/-1 counters, and to players as poison counters. It also still deals damage to creatures as -1/-1 counters, and to players as poison counters."
