some random stranger added this card to the banned list on the Magic wiki above. so what do you think, is he right, or is he crazy?

It does kinda cease to be Magic the way you and I know it once he hits play. I'm all for mental magic, but one-sided mental magic...
On the other hand I'd like to see it abused it practice.
I don't know about you guys, but I space out when I play mental magic... it's really hard!

Re: Big Deck Poll 12: Richard Garfield Ph.D.?
i say no simply because it forces everyone to try to remember what the player chose, and then what happens to his graveyard? Are the cards in his GY the cards as they are read or as he chose them to be?
Too complicated and too much of an annoyance if, by chance, an argument occurs over the mana cost or instance of a particular card the player is "mentaling"

So to paraphrase, no to Price of Progress because it's no fun, and no to Richard Garfield because it's too much fun.

I say allow this magnificent (and may I add handsome
) card to big deck. And I am not just saying that cause Ornithopter = Black Lotus and Wandering Ones = Ancestral Recall, but he is a 2/2 for 5 that dies to loads of things.

apparently i should have changed my template for these polls long ago. make sure to read the question before you vote. i think i can make it so you can change your vote. stand by.
by the by, i see no problem with Dr. Garfield.

don't forget, you're only allowed one Un-card in your Big Deck anyway!

I have no problem with it. I only argue to ban fun cards, like Dan suggests!
Re: Big Deck Poll 12: Richard Garfield Ph.D.?
My question still stands. How does the GY situation work while he is in play and his controller has "mentaled" a few cards into the GY?

I assume the cards in the 'yard are as printed. Dr. Garfield says the card are played as other cards, not that they become other cards. So I figure if you play a random card that costs 3U as Deep Analysis, it's not Deep Analysis when it's in the yard.

Agreed. I figure when they change zones they revert back to their original printed form.
